PDP governorship candidate condemns murder of Kaduna Chief

Mr Isa Ashiru, the Kaduna State Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the murder of Dr Maiwada Galadima, the paramount ruler of Adara Chiefdom in the state, by unidentified persons.

Ashiru, who said this in a statement on Friday in Kaduna, described the abduction and subsequent assassination of the Chief as the ugliest form of criminality that should be condemned by all peace-loving people.

He condoled with the immediate family of the deceased and the entire people of Adara Chiefdom.

The candidate urged relevant authorities, security agencies and community leaders to continue to adopt effective measures toward the restoration of normalcy in the state.

He particularly called on government and security agencies to intensify effort in ensuring that those behind the heinous crime were arrested and prosecuted.

Ashiru urged residents of the state to be peaceful and united in order to fight against enemies of the state bent in fomenting troubles.

Meanwhile, the state government has reinstated the 24-hour curfew it imposed on Kaduna metropolis and environs: Kasunwan Magani, Kajuru, Katari and Kachia.

A statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (Media and Publicity) on Friday in Kaduna, Samuel Aruwan, said this was necessary to help maintain peace.

He also said that the development was to “mourn the death of HRH, Agom Adara, who we lost in the early hours of today to the criminals who adopted him last week“.

“Kaduna State Government calls for calm in all our communities. The criminal elements who perpetrated this crime should not be allowed to divide us.

“Let us unite against every criminal activity. Let us stand together as human beings who have a right live in peace, the governor’s aide“ advised.
